TGP Supports the Environment

Our Approach

When it comes to the environment, we are taking steps to lessen the impact that our processes and products have on the planet. It’s about having the overall mindset that everyone must play a role in protecting the environment.

  • We recycle 100% of our glass cut-off waste.
  • Our FireLite® products are made with recycled and reclaimed glass (cullet). The use of cullet helps reduce the amount of energy needed to produce the new batch of glass.
  • Glass is one of the few materials that can be continuously recycled.
  • Our packaging uses recycled corrugated cardboard packing materials whenever possible vs. timber or plastic crating.
  • We recycle 100% of our steel cut-offs.

LEED®-CI Gold certified

  • Relies heavily on recycled and reclaimed finish materials and includes Daylighting design practices by incorporating TGP's glazing and framing systems throughout the building to capture outside light and reduce energy consumption.
  • Diverted 96 percent of construction waste from landfills.
  • Minimizes energy consumption with state-of-the-art electrical design and HVAC systems.
  • Uses 100% reclaimed water for irrigation, lowering impact on the local water table and potable water supply.
  • Reduces water consumption by 43 percent with ultra low-flow water fixtures.
  • Provides healthy indoor air using low VOC materials to achieve ventilation rates 34 percent above standard (includes adhesives, sealants, paints, coatings, carpet system, wood and agrifiber products, and furniture).

Transit Program

  • TGP sponsors community transit programs for all employees to help reduce the number of vehicles on the road each day.

TGP offers a continuing education course on Daylighting practices, an important sustainability initiative:

A Bright Future: Daylighting for Tomorrow’s Buildings. — an AIA Course for Sustainable Credit:

As designing with natural light grows in popularity for green building and overall aesthetics, more architects and designers are looking for resources to help with effective Daylighting practices. This course covers the role of Daylighting in designing environmentally sustainable buildings, and the benefits and challenges of using natural light.
